Now that Helena is in 1st grade, we decided it was time for her to start her music lessons. Instead of opting for the piano like Patrick, Helena decided that the guitar suited her better. At her first lesson she even told her teacher that she liked Daughtry!
Lena has lost a ton of teeth in the last few weeks (including some here) and I’ll post even more pictures soon. She says she is going to be a Jack-O-Lantern for Halloween.
Just before Labor Day, Patrick and Lena started school. Patrick is starting 5th grade and Lena is starting 1st grade. Both are in Folger McKinsey Elementary School.
Below are the traditional pictures from the 1st day!
Right after Patrick’s birthday the whole Lawson family came for a visit. Patrick and Helena talked about seeing cousins Ryan, Clare and Megan for months and played from sun up to sun down while they were here. It was great to see them!
Patrick had a great 10th birthday at the beginning of August. Even though it was mid-week and he was in basketball camp we had a great celebration well into the night.
At the beginning of August we went to Promised Land State Park in the Poconos and met Uncle Jon and Emma there for a few days of camping. We had a great time fishing, sitting by the campfire and renting a boat on Lake Wallenpaupack. The only downer was cutting the trip short a night due to some rain on the last day.
This weekend the 9U Green Hornets had 3 wins and 0 losses to win the North Country Championship. It was a great way to wrap up baseball for the year and Patrick had a great tournament. Check out the pictures and video below.
After several eye tests it was finally decided that Patrick needs glasses and he got them this week. We think he looks really good and hopefully he will stop squinting to see things that are far away!
A couple of weeks ago, Patrick and Helena got to run the bases at Camden Yards after the Orioles game. Check out the pictures and video - sorry the video is so shaky but I had to walk down the stadium steps as I was taking it.
